Summaron 35mm 3,5 on a M2???

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Leica Photography : One Thread

Hi, I've got a simple question to this lens. Is ist possible to use it although this lens has attached the "eyes" which are normally importatn for the M3? Or do I get some trouble with it on my M2?

Thanks for all answers!

Greetings from Germany

It will work just fine. The 50mm framelines will be corrected by the eyes to show the field of view of the 35mm lens.

An interesting question which I was sure John Collier answered correctly, but I had to satisfy myself. It does in fact work well. The framelines are drawn inward to the approximate position of the 50MM framelines without the lens. This is particularly nice for those of us who wear glasses. It's a nice combination, enjoy

Hans: The 35mm f3.5 Summaron is an excellent lens. I have used the version with "eyes" on my M3 and now have the version without "eyes" for use with my M6. I have always been impressed with the results this lens produces, especially on transparency films. Enjoy the lens.

I had one (without eyes) on an M6 and I was disapponted with the sharpness off-axis. By f8 it was good.
