This guy deserves a few back pats, after Chelsea to score last night was great. We have a top player here.

I agree, Swift. There has been some criticism of him recently but we forget that he is only 22, in his second year in the PL and probably en route to being one of our great defenders.

Without doubt will prove to one of our best ever buys - arguably already is.

Arguably? Oh go on then. I'm reluctant to build him up that high just yet...Rob Lee would be my best buy ever. Length of service has to come into it, and Andy O'B just hasn't been around long enough to merit those accolades, despite the obvious promise he's showing. Let him at least finish a few seasons before we start giving him the 'best ever' label.

i think peter beardsley wins best buy for me, a risky but completely inspired buy from kevin.

Has to be Andy Cole , Bought for nowt sold to massive profit scored tonnes.. Hes not the player he once was is he ;-)

Peter Withe imo. We were second division shite at the time. Late 70s God we were shite! Peter came after winning the European Cup with Forest stayed two seasons then was sold to Villa who won the European Cup as well. I shudder to think what would have become of us if he hadn't works his guts out.

how about the other side of the coin.... what about worst buys???

I have to say that would be Dave Beasant from Wombles and John Robertson from Hearts....

......there are just too many contenders! However, "off the top" Marcia and Sylvia must take some beating inrecent times?

O'Brien has been here less than a season yet he is already looking like our best ever buy.

I still find it hard to believe he's only 22. When you consider that Tony Adams was considered to be at his peak aged about 30, we really do have something special here.

Sorry but IMO the worst buy is to easy to choose as soon as you remember a keeper purchased by Keegan. He came from Liverpool. Need more clues? Ok it was Mike Hooper. Shit.

Agree regarding O'B. Improves every game. Lot to learn but looks like he wants to.

Although Andy, I remember Hooper saving a penalty from Klinsmann against Spurs, and we went on to win from there.
