This morning's press

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Unofficial Newcastle United Football Club BBS : One Thread

Unbelievable reporting on last night's match. The Mirror in particular is outrageous. Runs 2 artcles slagging us off and then an article about Dyer being in a race against time to get into England squad. Also 'wonders' if he was at a 'genuine title contending team' whether he's have more chance.

That penalty - every journo agrees it was a 'classy' example of textbook tackle.

'significant' that we went ahead when we were 11 v 10.

The Sun says we played more like a team fighting relegation.

I could go on but what's the point. Clear case of London media throwing their toys out the pram?

pathetic, and its so obvious isn't it? I can't believe that we are really surprised though.

It's making it a real pain trying to find photos and headlines in the online press this morning. I want something triumphant to print out and hang on my cubicle wall. Most of the headlines are of Henry's temper tantrum and photos of Arse players. If anyone finds something good, point me to it please. So far, I've got icDP "The jinx is ended". A bit small, but it's a start. :-D

Let the biased media diddums have their petty tantrums - and then check out the PL Table. Now that makes worthwhile reading!

Ciara, just print out the table!

Yip the papers only talk about arsenal and the injustice but hey so what, enjoy the moment!!! On a different note, we seem to have lost the injuries that always plague the toon and we are fighting for every point. Amazing what happens when you let a shit coach like wadsworth leave...coincedence....I think not.

look at the official match stats and tell me it wasn't a penalty.

btw. from my living room it was a penalty, i couldn't understand how campbell stayed on the pitch

I'm surprised LR hasn't said that the reason everyone so peeed off about us winning is because an "ABU" nation thinks we have now handed the title to Man Utd...

I do actually have the top half of the table. Part of the screen cap I did of the icDP Newcastle United page. :-D

The commentators were hysterical. They had their boxes of official Highbury tummy-wipes at the ready and went into a frenzied race to see who would scoop the Arsenal end-of-season video voice-over job. They were almost in tears when someone else's Frenchman pissed all over their firework. The sales of Gaviscon in media land must have gone through the roof.

Just as well Poll had a mare and Henry threw a nutty, gave them something to write about once their pre-written stories of our 30th loss in London went up in smoke. ;-)

I don't care what the media think - f**k them!

Normally I would be very annoyed at such garbage from the papers but what the hell, we won in London and beat Arsenal by TWO CLEAR GOALS.

We can smile for now, and spit on the media from a great height.
