Salgado's Next Project

Has anyone read, or heard tell of, what Sebastiao Salgado is working on next? Another epic? A departure?

Thanks,

Preston

I don't know but I sure hope it's going to be a lot more interesting than 'Migrations' - that really was the greatest cure for insomnia! Why does this man feel that he must continuously show the pain and suffering of others in much of his work - as indeed many documentary photographers do? What do we learn from these images and why is it assumed that they are good photographs because of their content? Could this be a case of the Empreror's new clothing? Sorry, Preston - it's nothing personal but every time I hear Salgado's name my blood begins to boil!

Though I am a great admirer of Salgado's, I don't place him above criticism. I, too, am hoping his new work will take a different direction, complementing (not trying to outdo) "Migrations" and "Workers." But what's an overachiever to do?

I believe his next project is about puppies around the world. A new departure. It will combine formal portraits with pictures of them eating, playing and snoozing in the sun. You have to admire the man's versatility. Interestingly, it will be shot in colour. I saw an interview on TV about this project where he said that since puppies don't wear clothes, he would be able to capture their souls in colour. Personally I believe the colour photons won't penetrate the fur, but let's see. If anyone can do it, it's Salgado.
