I now have a canon EOS-1n and would like to know the value of the camera because I am interested in upgrading and would like to get top dollar for my camera which is in excellent condition.

Not to be harsh, but why would someone who doesn't know the value of a top-of-the-line camera want to upgrade from it? Troll?.

B&H sells new EOS-1Ns for $900. This model will be discontinued soon as Canon's flagship camera now is the EOS-1V. Check EBAY listings to get an idea of the going price for your camera in the used camera mark

I just noticed that my complete response did not show up in the posting listed above. EBAY prices will give you a good estimate of the value of your used EOS-1N. You can expect to get roughly 50%-75% of the price of a new EOS-1N, depending on the cosmetic and mechanical condition of your old EOS-1N. I personally would not sell the EOS-1N to get the EOS-1V. The 1V will give you marginally better autofocusing, autoexposure and E-TTL flash control, but for 90% of picture taking situations, this won't help much! :-).........................................
