Greetings,

We recently had a doe with a CL abcess that drained. We have isolated her and she seems to be doing great. My concern is my dog. While we were dealing with her abcess and cleaning it out, my dog got a bite of a paper towel that contained some pus. He's usually a well behaved dog and this really surprised us. Anyone ever run into this before?

Hi Charleen, you may want to discuss this with your vet. The cornybacterium inside the abscess is highly contagious to all animals and us. I have no idea what exactly would happen, if it would present as abscess. But Goat Medicine does state it is zoonic. Vicki
