Last night hub and I went to an open house shingig for my brother who is in town from DC and won't be here for Christmas. Christmas Eve we spend with my mother's side of the family, exchanging gifts, gorging ourselves, and whatnot. Christmas morning, lovey face-time with my favorite husband; Christmas day I suffer sans hub through a lame formality of an event with the surly dregs of my father's family -- basically they are waiting for my grandmother to die so they never have to see us again. Christmas evening we go to my in-law's house for food, folks, and fun.

I am not much in the Christmas spirit. I usually put out exterior lights on the bushes and such but I was in no mood this year. Y'all, we don't even have a tree. Don't want one, don't care.

I'm going numb with a smile frozen on my face from the 24th through the 26th. Immediately following the yearly Brunch of Stress on that day, we will be grabbing our bags and driving as quickly as possible to get to Atlanta.

My mother and I go get massages on the day after Christmas. If I can just get to Atlanta and get my massage, I believe I will then consider this year officially over.

I am already exhausted and wish the holidays were over. I've had five parties in the last nine days, and that is in addition to being Bar Wench at Your Local Pub to support my party-going habit.

When I woke up this morning, my feet hurt when I got out of bed. I think it's because SOMEbody and I were dancing fools on Saturday night, swinging in 4-inch heels...

I'm thinkin' I need to start the Boxing Day Massage tradition of Robyn and her mom.

Man. I was wondering why I was sore. I forget about clazy dancing.

We'll be in LA, with many people and many drinking.

I can't believe I've finished my shopping.

i'll be in maryland with my mom, fighting off alergies from her cats. christmas day will be spent at my sister's house with my mom, my brother and his family and will consist of eating, watching football or schlockity movies on tv, and again, fighting off alergies from my sister's cats.

26th i drive back to oHIo, work (and pray to all things prayable that i get to go home before 5:30), get ready for new year's eve shenanigans.

i just want it to be the 21st already!

Mr. Boy & I will spend Christmas the Jewish Way, with a movie (Ali) and a big Chinese dinner. I will also be able to indulge my illicit love of all things Christmas by preparing a massive stocking for him. And I'll go to Philly/South Jersey for a few days right after New Year's to bond w/fam & pals.

Church, present opening with the whole clan, and a Prime Rib dinner on Christmas Eve. Sledding and Oyster Stew on Christmas Day. The 26th? Drunken party at my friend Christian's house, where those of us of the female persuasion are going to attempt our First Big Dinner, but will probably get drunk and burn the potatoes or something.

So basically, I plan to gain ten pounds.

mmm...fudge.

probably just opening gifts with mom and dad (if dad is still here; apparently he's going up north to Ohio to see the relative or something...feeeh. and we aren't). I already opened one, so it's no big deal. no tree either. that was sort've disappointing until I realise that it'll mean no needles to step on haphazardly after xmas for months.

My horrible dear friend just broke up with her long time partner, so to keep herself busy she's been making fudge by the tons...and bringing it to me. I could kill her, but it's also rather sweet that it happened during PMS week for me.

Nobody has made fudge around here yet, and I am not patient enough to, so unless someone decides to have a baking day around here, I won't have any. :(

I did get the greatest Christmas cookies ever at church on sunday though. I swear, one of the ladies there is a frosting master. I have been adicted to the stuff since I was about four.

Oh my heavens. You'll be sorry you asked.

In about two hours, I'm leaving to drive from my mom's house in West Virginia to San Antonio, TX. I'll be staying there until Christmas Eve, hopefully getting some Omie and Jette action (as well as any other persons who'd like to hang out, email Jette for my cell phone number) on Saturday night.

Christmas Eve, I'm flying to La Guardia to my sister's place. My parents are coming that night to pick us both up to go to Rhode Island for Xmas Eve.

We come back Xmas Day, drop sister off in NYC and head back to West Virginia.

December 26, we leave for Florida to see my grandparents whom I haven't seen in like, years. I miss them. We'll be coming back January 2nd or so. Yeah, we're driving. I think it's like 16 hours.

We come back January 2nd, I immediately turn around and drive 3 hours back to Pittsburgh.

Whew.

Mr. Boy & I will spend Christmas the Jewish Way, with a movie (Ali) and a big Chinese dinner.

Word on that. I actually have to work that day (since it's no big deal for me and it gives all good Christians the day off), but am doing the movie and Chinese thing with the gf that night. I'm lobbying very hard for Ali. It looks awesome.

Uh, if you are interested in an review of Ali based on what all the studio people and film buyers who saw it last week told me email me at sgleason@gencin.com.
