A Prefence?

I think i've got a small bill to settle...I know the Drayton Park has been mentioned, but it's a bit of a designated 'away' pub and bound to be packed, so perhaps not a great meeting place. I'll go with the flow though...

It does get very full, but as long as you're there around 12pm you'll be ok. And they don't mind the overspill onto the pavement outside.

12pm? hahaha that'd be some serious drinking time for an evening match ;))
-- Anonymous, December 17, 2001
Oh yeah...doh! In that case, take an 8 pack on the tube :-)

Stu is. I haven't fully decided whether I'm coming as I am truly boracic. Having said that, I said the same thing about Chelsea and ended up going.....

Well Screacher, are you in Bournemouth? I wish I`d known, there`s an afternoon tea dance at New Milton Community Centre every Monday! (;o)

Where's the Drayton Park? I'm a South West London lad, try not to stray over North London too often. Anyway, wherever it is I'll be there from 6:00pm, full of optimism and looking forward to a chorus of 'we're top of the league'. Meet there Peter, or somewhere in West London first?

Terry, I'll be making my way from Baker Street via King's Cross, so might be easier to meet there. Should be able to make it for 6.00 at the Drayton. It's a few hundred yards from Arsenal tube, turn right out of tube and go down Drayton Park which runs west past Highbury. I'll e-mail you my mobile in case.Nothing to lose game in my mind, so looking forward to enjoying it regardless.

http://www.streetmap.co.uk/streetmap.dll?grid2map?X=531400&Y=185600&ar row=Y&title=Approximate+location+of+Drayton+Park+Hotelbasically near Drayton Park Station... not far from Arsenal tube or Highbury. I'll be there around 6.

Thanks Geordie, I'll go via Highbury, overground. I presume it's a ten minute walk to the ground from the pub, or as my mother used to say, and still does, 'its a five minute walk if you run'. Funny folk these Northern women. Speaking of which, get yourself down there Dougal. Surely, when they talk of the night we finally broke the London hoodoo, you want to be able to say 'Ah yes, I remember it well, I was there'

Geordie, just checked the map url. Loads of prisons and churches, nee pubs. That's why I try to steer clear of North London. Anyway, I'll find it. Pete, see you there.
-- Anonymous, December 18, 2001
The map has an arrow pointing at the pub! (although I think it's got it on the wrong side of the road.... but then again I was in no fit state to remember anything on my last visit)

Right.... time to pack up my pc and head off to the station. Should arrive in the crap hole around 5:15.... will be at the bar in the Drayton at 6pm.
