Handlaid crossover

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Wiring for DCC : One Thread

Hi,

I need some specific help on how to gap and wire a handlaid crossover. I'm using Digitrax Chief. If you could draw a picture of the crossever and where the gaps and the wiring go like you have on your turnout page that would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks again, Richard DiSanto

Richard,

This topic has been covered somewhat in this forum. If you are using solid frogs, see the thread under the track wiring section. There is a reference to someone who has wired a crossing.

While I'm just too snowed under to have the time to make any drawings for you, I do have the Shinohara crossover which you may be able to use. This is for if you are NOT using solid crossings. See the turnouts section of my web page.

I use green to indicate power routed sections of track. If you are not using your crossover with turnouts like this, you may choose to connect them to the red or blue.

Shinohara has some of the guard rails powered as I have indicated. There is no need for this. I'm sure it's just a matter of how the manufacturing process goes.
