Do female Leica users put tape on their cameras?greenspun.com : LUSENET : Leica Photography : One Thread |
Seriously. In light of the fabulously stimulating conversation below, I began to wonder if the phenomenon of purchasing a $2,000 camera, and then putting electrical tape on it for primarily cosmetic reasons, was limited to men. What do women do with their Leicas? I'm curious.

Yes, Godfrey, I agree. They are known to be more intelligent than men, right ?-Iván

Yup. And because they're more intelligent they find all the typos as they're scouring the instruction manual!;-)

Hi Dennis:Among the strange facts, it seems that few M6 owners are collecting Leica M6 mouse pads....

Yawn... black tape on Leicas eckkkkk... the worst thing is that getting the sticky stuff off is worse... personally Sarah and me would be shooting more pictures. :)Alfie

Alfie, If you don't like the sticky backing on black tape, why don't you try Gaffers tape. The backing does not leave a residue when you remove it. I bought my roll at B+H Photo.

i think whatever tape you use, after a while the glue deteriorates and won't come off in one piece. i used gaffer tape for my electronic music gear a lot, and taking it off after a few months was a sticky mess.

yes i have taped a small mirror to the back of my leica, nice thing to check your hair and makeup with!

Maja, that will teach you to buy an SLR next time: it comes with its own in-built mirror ;-)
