Countryside -January /February Issue

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Country Families : One Thread

I just received my new issue in the mail! I was just glancing through it and ran across a headline that of course sounded interesting to me: "Cutting Expenses is a Family Affair" Although the article doesn't say, I remember this topic well from Countryside forum. It was about a woman who's bills totaled $4000 a month and she couldn't get the rest of the family to cooperate in saving money. Many people gave her a lot of helpful advice, myself included.

My response is in the magazine!!! Not my name, just the advice I had listed. So if anyone is interested it is on page 107 and starts with "This is my favorite subject..." If anyone doesn't get the magazine, maybe later I will have time to type it all in for you. Just wanted to let you know that your humble moderator is now "published" Ha, Ha!!! Maybe someone else from here is in there also...

Melissa, I thought that was you and I posted a question on here asking you if it was but for some reason, it didn't appear. I found the article quite interesting and I just knew it was you!!!!

Barb, it is so funny that you mentioned this, but you posted the question on the forum called "A Country Place" , not Country Families!! I was just there and read the question and was going to post an answer but I got dis-connected. When I came on here I clicked on this and there your answer was.

I'm in Washington State and I got my issue today. I remember that post wasn't it from Greenthumbalina in Florida? To bad you didn't get credit for your answer Melissa.

Melissa, just call it old age or maybe I can use the excuse of lack of sleep!!! I knew that was you. My excuse for lack of sleep is being private duty nurse to my FIL who is in the hospital. He had to have gallbladder surgery and it was gangrenous. The dr. said it was the worst gallbladder he'd ever seen. He is on massive doses of antibiotics. Appreciate your prayers for him. I'm getting ready to go up to the hospital now to relieve my MIL so she can get some rest.

We were talking about how funny it was that you knew it was me. My husband thought it was amazing!! I don't mind not getting any credit as we all knew that anything posted on Countryside could be used. It was just so thrilling to see my words in real print, even though it wasn't that spectacular of an answer. I may become a writer after this.

Barb, your family is in my prayers. I hope everything goes OK, take care of yourself too!

I finally got my issue yesterday--turns out I was published, too (blushing) from that same thread. I'm the one who said we only buy ice cream and grapes when they're on sale and my best dresses cost $2! haha
