Must have been a Buff side !! Dunston guile and wit and hardness would overcome all, in the right hands

True, except both Mark and Paul were from Heaton and not very big, just exceptional players.

Whickham club and the Rose and Crown used to be excellent teams. Both played in the top division of the big sunday league(about 8 leagues). Very violent matches when they met though.

I used to play against a team (can't remember what they were called) from Howden Le Wear in approx 1970-71.There was a lad called Alex Dolphin (I think) and his brother but Alex was sensational. We all know/played against a lad who was astounding ..this lad was it. All the clubs had been to watch him but he had a job, a couple a bairns (well he was 19 or 20) and was happy soooooooooo wasn't interested.

A good team at present. They have been at the top of the Shields league and are now storming through the Cramlington Leagues are the Catholic club from Whitley bay and Formica off the coast road.
