Heya ppl, back from Korea now. Didnt have the time to post anything for yoy guys over there. No UK player or team won a medal, Sweden won a gold (Quake III) and a bronze (Starcraft).

It was a really cool event with a budget of $12M, 280 reporters from around the world. Also 430 players from 37 different countries. Computer gaming is getting big!

Anyway, really nice to see that we kicked some Ipswich butt!!

Welcome back sudden. Why not tell us about your trip and your impressions of Korea - never been there.

No, I wasnt part in any medals, I was the teamleader and didnt get to play any, not that I should have anyway.

My impressions of Korea? Ok, they have reached a high standard in a pretty short time I guess and they are still building EVERYWHERE. Seuol is a big city with about 10M ppl I think but some sort of smog covers the whole place, not very plesant. Also it's quite ugly there.

There is advertisment for the FIFA WC all over the place, it's gonna be huge in Korea. I sure would like to go there then.

I didnt get to see much of the city, i was at a big exhibition center named COEX all days and at the players village at night. The koreans are very friendly but like all other asian people (?) they have a hard time saying no. "Is this the bus to the COEX?" "Yes" - After half an hour your notice you are going the wrong way and stuff like that.

Most often when you been away for a week or more it feels nice to be home even if you enjoyed your trip. I feel so now also but i wanna go back again NOW. It was great fun and Im sad it ended so fast.

Sounds like a big version of Middlesbrough ;-)

Gav, I'll take you on mate. Bet you a night's drinking, that's far more fun than vulgar cash ;-)) So, how'd you wanna play it? Ultimate Risk, Scenario, Blind and Europe...ok?

Bobster....you got mission risk the computer version? just wondering cos we might be able to play across the net :))

".....like all other asian people they have a hard time saying no".

Wow, that good a time then, sudden? Know what I mean, say no more, ;-{) ;-{)

Haha ya clarky. Also on the plus side is that korean chicks are really cute!

Gav, if "mission risk" is Risk that comes with 2 disks (1 solo vs PC and 1 for multiplayer) then yes! :-) No idea how it works across the Internet though, or what the speed is like. If I'm not too pissed after the pub/game tonight I might load it up and see what happens.

Ah, I assume it's this one http://www.missionrisk.com/ which is different to the one I have. This is the 'classic' board game version. If you get the 'proper' one by Hasbro Interactive it has an Ultimate Risk version which allows you to build forts, have generals, attack using various tactics and across different scenarios (i.e. Europe 1812, Asia 1796 etc) and so on. There is a Risk II out, but I've got v.1

Haven't seen Ultimate Risk....have a play around with that mission risk...it's very easy against the computer and we'll see what we can organise sometime :)
