Worthless Tuesday work avoidance pondering posting

What are everyone's preferences for tonight's results?

For me, I want to see Arsenal run Blackburn into the ground so B'burn are completely knackered for Saturday, but B'burn win by a single goal. Also want Bolton to win.

Well Blackburn are 2 nil up now, Jansen having a good game (gulp). Bloody Spurs winning as well.

What would you take if it came down to 3 points on Saturday or a Worthless cup semi place? I'd take the points, we're feted not to win this cup ever.

FFS! Blackburn now 3 nil up! I can hear on the radio that bloody awful music they play after a goal.

Blackburn and Bolton to win for me.

Points, please!

And revising my earlier thoughts...how bout Blackburn score so many goals tonight they're knackered for Saturday? ;-)

And Spurs are 1 up now. Grrr. Go notloB!

I'd rather take 3 points on saturday than getting through tomorrow, but why don't we win them both? There will be a huge bonus if we win tomorrow though; stop the London curse!

Bloody Spurs are now 3 up. Standby for the media masturbation.

I'm thinking work is a better alternative to watching text updates right now. :-((

2 goals and an assist for Sir Les so far

-- Anonymous, December 11, 2001

Les again!

Hat trick for Les now - bless him. Oh well looks like Blackburn or Spurs in the semis.

Sir Les hattrick in 9min.

I'd fancy our chances against Blackburn. If it's to be Spurs, I'd rather go out to Chelsea tomorrow. Just can't bear another Poyet goal in another semi.

I'm supposed to keeping an ear out for Wolves v City (who cares?) - other half is Wolves supporter. They've just had someone sent off. Dirty wolves.

Oh dear.

Three points on Saturday rather than winning tomorrow.

The text commentary i've got is pretty useless on the Div1 matches, just shows City 1 up so far. Not much help am I? ;-)

Is the semi over 2 legs? I think it is isn't it? Not too bad. Of course this is on the basis we beat Chelsea. I'm not able to go to the match, no access to ITV digital, so decided just to avoid the whole thing if I can. I'll switch on at the end for the result.

That's the plan anyway. However may face up to the web cast if my nerves are up to it. I'm so pleased I see most of the games live - i am a bad TV watcher and radio listener.

Spoke too hastily, Lynda, here's what Sporting Life say:
Wolves' task at Manchester City in their Nationwide One clash has been made all the more difficult by Joleon Lescott's sending off for violent conduct. The ten men still trail 1-0.

Oh dear. They flatter to decieve do Wolves - not unlike another team I know.

I am starting to get really excited now! Our match tomorrow will be the most important match this season. If someone offered Newcastle 6th place now, I'd take it. Suggesting I'm not sure that we'll make Europe through the league. A win tomorrow would draw us against Blackburn, Tottenham, Watford (or sheff wed. Which really does give us a big chance this year. Can any1 confirm whether the semi is 1 leg or 2? COME ON THE TOON!!! If it's one leg i really hope that we are drawn at home. I love semi-finals with all the flags and excitement. A semi final @ home will really solve the lack of amosphere problem at SJP.

P.S isn't the WC final sometime round next summer!?

Will Chelsea be putting out their strongest side? If they were they might reconsider now the Arse are out the way.

-- Anonymous, December 11, 2001

Chelsea will want to win it - their only chance of a trophy really. They will play their strongest side according to Ranieri - if we're lucky we'll see a raggedy, shapeless kind of Chelsea or we may see the other, clicker Chelsea. Hope not.

Whichever we see, I'm looking forward to Distin vs Hasselbaink

-- Anonymous, December 11, 2001

The WC Semi Final is 2 legged, if by chance we do get through I want Blackburn. I think we can beat them home (we'll see soon!) and grab a draw away which would be good enough to put us in to the final. Don't care who we get in the final as it'll not be in London!

As I say though, we have to win tomorrow first and I'm certainly not getting my hopes up!
