Himalaya in Pop Photo

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Leica Photography : One Thread

Did anyone see the Himalaya pictures by Nat Geographic photographer Debra Kellner in September's Pop Photo? They were made during filming of the movie Himalaya. Kellner used Leicas, both an M6 and R7, with a good selection of lenses, and shot K64 and 200, Ektachrome, and Provia. Lovely images and well worth a look - specially as they were shot in freezing conditions while living on frozen yak meat! The Leicas never played up once, although the movie cameras did. She also preferred the Leica lenses. Veteran SLR columnist Herbert Keppler, who wrote the accompanying story, seems to have become smitten by Leica Ms and rangefinders - he wrote previously he now has an M3 and loves it!
