(really!)

Yeah, this one's great. From this vantage point, I feel kind of like a dog. Wait a minute...

Don't be afraid--Ali is a total sweetheart. I can't imagine a nicer woman to have towering over me . . .

Seriously - excellent work.

Saying this photo is about tall is like saying a Ferrari is about low cost transportation. I hope this model slaps you silly for this insult. For me, the big problem with this photo is the bottom half. It doesn't work. There's a certain dimensionality represented by the arms and shadows that doesn't work with the contrast of the magic triangle represented by the crotch/legs of this very sexy woman/child, against the rear hallway. Is that a cased opening I see? There's a certain innocence demeanor in the face that's offset by the bra less top, the hot pants, the hip boots, and the gloves. The flow of this photo seems to be from the legs to the head. Plus the crotch is thrust forward in a very suggestive, child-bearing, sexual way. Unfortunately, rather than exploit this and improve the separation between the rear of the hall and the legs/crotch area, you've "chickened out," and run everything together ruining the mood of the shot. Face it, this woman is dripping with sexuality, and she's obviously got you spoked. To many catechism classes, perhaps? Your guilt is showing. If I were to re-shoot this, I'd use a very small (very low guide #) kicker flash on the floor just behind the model to create a halo effect around the legs and crotch, further emphasizing the wife/whore motif and reinforcing the primordial sexuality of this very beguiling model. A+ though, for getting this model to pose for you.

Thanks for the in-depth critique, Glenn, but the amateur psychoanalysis is a little over the top. I'm not Catholic and never have been. In fact, I'm generally accused of being too guilt-free. ; ) There are reasons other than fear for not making her crotch the primary visual focus of the photo.
