Please Help - Total Newbie

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Video CD : One Thread

I am a total newbie and novice to the whole burning VCD thing - so I know this may be annoying what I'm asking, but I wopuld be grateful if you could at least point me in the right direction.

I have an older PowerPC Macintosh and have Toast Titanium which has the option for burning VCD's. I wan't to take simple small quicktime movies (that I have digged in with a videocard) and JPEG images and burn them to a VCD that I can put in my DVD player and look at on my TV. (My DVD player supports VCD disks burned in a CD-R).

I cannot figure out the steps of how to convert the QT movies and JPEG's to the right type and size of MPEG so that when I drag the file into Toast Titanium it will accept it.

I tried converting the QT movies and JPEG's with Sparkle (which says its an MPEG convertor) but Toast doesn't like the files.

Can you please point me in the right direction of how to convert the files correctly or point me to a webpage or book or mac software that is more introductory for someone like me who is lost.

Thanks so much.

Have you tried www.vcdhelp.com? They have a lot of really good info there. There might be something that can help you. The bad thing is that the vast majority of us are PC users, not Mac users, so very few of us can offer practical advice when it comes to using Macs for VCD.
