Good save by Cudicini really, the pen wasn't that bad to be honest.

SK missed a canny few chances which I've seen him put away before with relative ease. Maybe he just isn't as good as he used to be

The point is that strikers miss pens all the time. It's only the Makems who seem to make such a big fat deal of it because it's Shearer for us.

it's a shame cos if he'd scored they'd have moved up to 9th ahead of Everton, Charlton and Bolton

Paul, Sewar's pen was no better and no worse than Shearer's at Fulham. Now that the goalie is allowed to move before the kick, it often just takes a good guess. Both these examples (and Ravioli last weekend) were at "savable" heights. The hardest one to save (and also score) is up in the top corner. Sadly, I missed PdC's recent effort. I hear he made a complete tit of himself.

Thought Chelsea looked pretty average today, although they did defend well. We should be capable of giving them a decent game in the WC.

I thought the mackems did canny - very strong in m/f and worked their danglies off.
Sewper missed a string of chances that he would normally put away, but Leslandes was ....er....well, Lillian probably best describes him!
Discopants replaced him on the hour - signalling the end of any attempt to play football. The rest, as they say is mackem history.
