Theatre of dreams - house of cards? Keane's aggression...

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Unofficial Newcastle United Football Club BBS : One Thread

After watching the highlights tonight, don't know how Keane gets away with some of it. Obviously he's passionate, but has a problem controlling his aggression. He clearly took a swing from behind at some West Ham player in the penalty area, and got away with it - he'd been booked already, so maybe the ref decided to give him the benefit of whatever doubt there could be about swishing your right arm with intent at somebody's head. Keane would be better served getting stuck into the rest of the rabble in a massively arrogant dressing room. Its a slippery slope...

Keane should have been sent off before the incident you refer to Bok. He clattered a WHU player just outside the box shortly after he was booked. There is little doubt in my mind that Durkin realised if he blew for a FK he'd have to send RK off, and ducked it completely.

Without doubt Keane is a marevellous player, but imo he gets away with murder.

The TV commentator was so lost for words on a couple of "Keano occasions", he just (audibly) smiled!

Should have been sent off AT LEAST once! I cannot stand him. Althogh he'd be perfect for the toon.

Someone rang 606 and said that Durkin was awful and had obviously gone on to the pitch carrying a yellow card with Keane's name on it. Very sensible - saves all that writing with cold fingers.

They should replace his name with a bar code to save time.

Tosser!

LOL hiro, brilliant idea. They should do that with all players, not just Keane, it would save loads of time.

Totally agree though generally, Keane could have had a few red cards if the game worked like that.

Dyer was sent off for telling a linesman to f~~k off, but Keane gets away with a yellow for that one. The tackle from behind which is a clear yellow if not a red - goes unpunished. Then the blatant smack in the gob on Joe Cole - another sending off. Then there was the punch in the back of Repka's head. He was quite obviously hurt but didn't make a big deal of it.

I think he is past his best now. I suspect he'll be going to Celtic at the end of this season anyway.
