Hair. Yes, indeed it is. And not just lovely hair but a wonderful exposure and great sense of tone and detail in it as well. Your are one of the most technically accomplished photographers I know.

However, I can't help but thinking that the person is more interesting than the hair, and therefore I'm a little sad that the face is so burnt-out (on my monitor). She looks like a lovely creature: any chance of making a print where we can see more of her?

As usual, another really cool shot. Even though she's a beautiful subject, her facial features (where much of her beauty lies) are just a sideline. This photograph portrays hair, and nothing gets in the way of that, not even a pretty face. Stunning work. I just never would have realized on my own that such composition would work so well, not in a hundred years.

As someone with almost no hair (unlike Mike), I often find myself photographing people simply because of their hair. This is a great shot, and that is a lot of hair.

I hope Mike doesn't mind me posting one of my shots of hair on his thread, more of an improptu shot (I ran out of the bar after her to get this shot) than his. Maybe there's others out there?

Thanks for the comments. The focus of the shot (literally) was the hair; I only wanted to include enough features to make it clear that this was a person. Here's another shot of Alice Marie (taken half a minute before the top photo) which clearly shows her face (though the focus is still on the hair).

I certainly have no objection to seeing more, interesting hair shots. Good hair (and good eyes) will get a long way with me. As you might have noticed from some of my other posts, I simply have no effective defense against big blue eyes and naturally-curly hair. ; )

[A side note: Alice Marie's hair is actually very straight--it takes an hour's worth of work to put the kink in it.]
