Canon ZR25 and Capture Card/Software

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Video CD : One Thread

I just purchased the Canon ZR25 digital camcorder. I'm interested in video editing and such for VCD, SVCD, mpg4, etc. What firewire/1394 capture card and editing software (preferably in a bundle/package) is recommended? Is the Adaptec DVPics (includes firewire card/cable) and DVPics software a good choice? Please help.

I got the Keyspan Firewire Card which comes with a video capture and edit software. It costs around $70. The only problem is that it doesnt have capability for downloading images from the Multimedia card on the MR version of the ZR25

I too am having one hell of a time finding software for downloading to the PC. Have tried the EZ series, MovieMaker...with no luck. Anyone out there have a success story?...please inform.
