An absolute shocker considering the line-up. I'd be v.interested to hear excuses / reasons / good things to bring away from this.

Seems like a lot of changes to the side though? Will the reserves have Luax2 Ameobi Dyer et al at their disposal for more games?

from the Journal

Dyer played 62mins replaced by Gavilan. Dyer came through it ok, he even took a whack on the shin. Gavilan looked good which is good.
Lua Lua had a chance, Ameobi got the goal at the end from a Gavilan cross.
It's a sign of strengh that we can field a team with so many players on the fringe of the first team. I wonder if Tommy Craig gave them a bollocking for getting beat? I would've.

"It's a sign of strengh that we can field a team with so many players on the fringe of the first team".

To apply a clarky to this statement, dare I suggest the fact they couldn't beat a rag tag team of unknowns actually points to a lack of depth of genuine quality in our squad, and another indication that some of these guys should be moved on and replaced with players of genuine potential?

Just a thought, but where the hell is Marcelinho? Is the bassa injured again?

He's probably back in the Loadaballearics collecting the rents on all the time-shares or whatever, that he's supposed to own there.

Obviously has no need of such minor football side effects as appearance money and win bonuses etc.

His whereabouts are starting to take on lucan overtones. We should be so lucky.

Griffin, Distin, Bernard, Acuna, Dyer, LuaLua, Ameobi, Hopefully Gavilan, that's eight

Why isn't Gavilan getting a go in the first team?

It'll be interesting to see if he plays for Paraguay against England at St James' next year in that friendly game. He should have the beating of Ashley Cole.
