I understand your point, and agree, but the new one is dedicated to M6's.

Oops: the url does not work

A search at

http://pages.ebay.com/services/forum/feedback-login.html

shows a gentleman has over 200 hundred tradings

Of course, any one can trade any number of times, and any one can set up a camera website too.

This is the weirdest thread I've seen for some time. What is your point, Martin?

-- Ray Moth (ray_moth@yahoo.com), December 04, 2001.

Ray I have being with Tony from the very beginning, I know how hard it was to start a forum the honest way.

Tony founded this forum at around September of 1998

There were only a handful of contributors for the first two years

As evident from the thread Is this forum dead

Tony did not grap members from other Leica group

Now some body who did not contributed anything here, at least not in the active contributor list ( or I missed it ) come to a PREDOMINANTLY M6 forum, and announces a new group, and suddenly has a traffic Tony waited more then two long years to build !

I just think it is unethical.

Personally, I am dubious about discussion group set up by people in buying/selling business.

Martin, this is some personal issue which you have and I find your postings rather silly and distasteful, not for the first time either I might add. You know full well that I'm not in the buying/selling business and while eBug was a project of mine for some time and the homepage is still on the web server, it is basically closed for all intense and purposes. However, people have asked me to leave it up for reference purposes for a while and I have obliged. I am a commercial student pilot in my final phase and shall be departing for Africa as a volunteer pilot for a Christian aid organisation as soon as training is finished. Not normally the career of choice for a hard bitten salesman, Martin. The VEF Riga Minox Forum is a pure discussion group, for the first in the line of Minox cameras. It is made up of a wonderful and friendly group of individuals and I'm most proud of it! No commercial selling is aloud and private exchanges are kept to a minimum and segregated from the list. The Leica M6 Forum is set up likewise and shall always remain that way. To say that a forum is not set up "honestly" is simply another one of your absurd pokes. I searched round for a Leica M6 forum, as the Leica range is so vast and I didn't really want to discuss the entire spectrum. I didn't find one so I started one, end of story. I've had heaps of mail from people thanking me for doing so and looking forward to a great forum and a great forum we will have. There will always be people who sneer, poke fun, try to destroy rather than build, and generally seek the negative in everything around them. Then there are others that look to build things, to encourage and motivate both themselves and others and generally look for the positive in people and situations. I wonder.... when you look in the mirror, in which of these categories do you place yourself?

Duncan, I know very well your technique of site building You post only ONE messsage at Minox Historical Society MHS site announing VEF Minox forum

http://groups.yahoo.com/group/MinoxHistoricalSociety/message/32

then, I don;t even find your name in the memberlist of Minox Historical Society any more.

What happened, Duncan ?

Try it here again ?

-- martin tai (martin.tai@capcanada.com), December 04, 2001.

No Martin, I didn't like the way the MHS was going, nor did I agree with certain things the main guys were doing, so I withdrew my membership. That, though, was after spending over 40 hours putting together articles for them that they asked me to write, some of which are now posted at the VEF Riga Minox Forum. Now, I wouldn't appreciate people debating in this tone on any of the lists that I run, so I won't continue this banter on this one, but if you wish to discuss this further, you're more than welcome to email me privately.
