Slow news, corporate views, badly edited, slow loading, half-baked ideas (some good) put badly into practice. generally, the feeling is that of your 5th form history teacher trying to look cool, dancing with the kids at the disco, while wearing leather elbow patches on a thread-bare tweed jecket.

Should be more news on Tickets / Season tickets. I remember wen I was on the waiting list, I didn't have a clue what was going on. And it had something about all applications should be in by june 5th and in August the same message was still there.

Think it's nowhere near as bad as it is painted. A bit of work of presentation, some proper player pages and s more detailed history section and it would be fine.

It's utterly pathetic - an embarrassment to the good name.
Actually, it has improved - that's shows how bad it was previously.

So, are yer ganna tell us what yer wanna knaa for bonny lad, leyk - instead of insulting Screacher for asking politely?

still no info on the overseas supporters club!!!!

Bobby pretty well summed it up for me. Plenty of good club websites around if they're looking for ideas of professional looking official sites. I visited Everton's yesterday for the first time this season and was quite impressed. Leeds also have a great looking site, with all the useful content you could want (including archived webcasts for those who aren't at a computer at match time!!), however it's a big graphics hog that's slow to download, so look to it for content and look inspiration only.

And lose the bleedin frames!

I thought that Arsenal's was probably one of the best. It's quite a deep site, but the navigation system is well thought out and it looks right as well.

Some sites are ugly as Monkeyheed himself, but it's more down to the club's colours than anything else. Imagine being given a brief to design a website, the only colours allowed being claret and blue!

To be honest, I've all but given up on .co.uk, preferring .com which IMHO is a lot better. I realise that being independent gives them a lot more freedom, but BObby summed it up pretty well for me.

.COM has a lot more sections and is better presented (and lets face it, presentation on the web is one of the most important things.

Anothe thing that gets on my tits is the blatant commercialisation on .co.uk. Yes, others do it (.com for starters) but the impression I get from ,co.uk is that is the sole raison d'etre rather than a spin-off from attracting folks there in the first place.

I agree with Dougal (shock horror!). More player related stuff would be great. The opportunity for fans to qusetion players and staff would be useful too.

5/10 - could do a lot better.

It's a pretty poor effort for merchandising as well when they still insist on charging overseas residents 30 pounds for shipping! I'd love to know how many people actually pay that.

online ticket sales....I'll get my coat

-- Anonymous, December 04, 2001

How about news that's up to date rather than something which I read eslwherer two days ago. If it's allegedly linked to the club then surely they can get exclusives. The chat area's rubbish as well. I remember the old days......

Scratchy, I happen to know who suppiies the computer systems for the NUFC ticketing ;-) They also supply the same h/w for many other clubs (Soton, Leeds, Norwich, Crewe, Chelsea, Swansea and Glamorgan CC). However, the s/w application that NUFC use is different from the application used by Soton, Leeds, Norwich and Crewe which can support online ticketing. I've send a note to a colleague who may be able to "introduce" this matter to the club.
