How to stop the worm virii

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Country Families : One Thread

This tip came from a lady known as Chelsea at CS, place and maintain the fake address and name in your address book: !000@wormalert as the first entry in your email address book, the reason being that the worm will start at the top of the listing and will send to the fake from where it has no place to go. Plus the mail adminestrator will return the failed email immediantly to you so you have early notice to fight it.

No stumper today in that no one even tried yesterdays, you cannot get the virus by answering the board, the board does not send you anything, nor anything with attachments.

Since you aren't giving us a stumper today I thought I'd post one (albiet simple) just for you! What letters continue this series:

O,T,T,F,F.......

Have a good day!

Mitch why don't you re-post yesterdays today? I think it got a little "Lost" in all the other computer stuff on the thread.

Mary, its been a while since I was near an aol mail screen, but if memory serves: go to the page where you would type an email, there should be a blue box to the upper right of the typing area and there are instructions about entering names, address, ect. I am not going to send you an email, so if you get anything with my name on it, right click on it and left click delete, repost here to tell me. My puter has been purged of the virus but I suspect it may have not been totaly zapped or has reentered.
