London Hodoo...

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Unofficial Newcastle United Football Club BBS : One Thread

I don't actually believe in hoodoo's, I think this is just a massive co-incidence that we have eithe been out played or been unlucky everytime we were in the capital.

But why don't we just arrange a friendly with a shit London team and beat them, It would shut the press up, they couldnt say we had a hoodoo anymore. And maybe give us a bit more confidence. Someone like Brentford.

Or how about Leyton Orient?

Oh no, you only got a draw there didnt you!

Quite simply, you have not had enough penalties in London. That is where the problem lies!

Hoodoo? What hoodoo?

It seems Sunderland have a Wearside hoodoo when playing Newcastle as well, 20+ years without a win??

Hoodoo my @rse, it's just a coincidence, maybe some mental barriers now after so long, but once on the pitch it's the same as any other ground, except of course for the smoke.

I think you'll find it's one win in the last 33 years - not enough penalties perhaps?!

Luckily though we have made up for it on YOUR ground. 79,90,99,00.

More wins than nufc have had on wearside in 33 years i think.

I think you'll find we're three wins ahead over the last 103 years SK!

3 wins over that long is not a massive advantage though.

Lets not forget the one about lies, damned lies and statistics.

Always handy in an arguement but always prove to prove little,if you get that!

I'm a firm believer in them but it being a mental block that maybe affects the players at the club in general.

I'm glad we finally buried one with Leeds too, and so looking forward to February, cos I fancy us to get a nice bit of form and another one to finally go...

Kev, you'd better be careful dimissing the value of statistics - Softie will be looking for you.....

Clive Mendonca's good at penalties...

And Sasa Ilic doesn't do a bad job at saving them....
