It's not till December 9. Going as Not Martha Stewart. Will wear horrible, tastless Christmassy clothes and carry a basket with Ritz crackers and aerosol cheese plus Twinkies. Hose will have runs, of course, and will wear my green velour house shoes which will have big bells and red bows sewn on them. Found an atrocious necklace with Santa and other crap on it. Am going to use tree ornaments for earrings. Oh--my favorite sweatshirt says "I'm not Martha Stewart."

Reminds me of Eunice, that Carol Burnett character she had that started the spinoff show, "Momma's Family." LOL

I dunno about that. I didn't like the Carol Burnette show, although I was crazy about Jonathan Winters and Tim Conway, so have no idea about the spinoff.

The spinoff had Vicki Lawrence as blunt-talking Momma, whom I thought was very funny.

Speaking of beloved comics, I always liked Benny Hill. That man was absolutely shameless.

OG, just a suggestion, to enhance your persona, try wearing "cheaters" (you know, those calf high hose that *aren't supposed to show* with runs and a skirt that is about 4 inches above them! Hey, I got some leopard (fake fur type) slippers I could loan ya! Just to enhance your aura, ya know!

I'd be careful to make sure the other folks understand where the costume ends and your normal attire begins...ROTFL

I have some black knee-highs (see-through) I thought I might use. . . I looked wistfully at my old black fishnet tights (from many Mardi Gras costumes, one of which got me a spot on NBC News one year!) but the effort required to get into them seems too much. There's a lot more to get into them these days!

Don't forget a "feather boa" made of multicolored tree garland :)

I once went to a Halloween party dressed as Betty Crocked. Wore a chef's tunic and hat, the little metal measuring spoons for earrings, and canning jar rings for bracelets. I also wore a tool belt bedecked with a variety of utensils and I used a 5-cup measuring cup for a beer mug.
