There's a thing.

It just occurred to me that since we're going to stick it right up Charlton this afternoon, it might be worthwhile to drag my ass through to the town and watch the beamback.

Nee such luck. They no longer do beambacks. This is going to be another memorable match for which we'll be allowed only a few visual crumbs courtesy of ITV.

Why aren't the club hosting beambacks anymore?

Good question Ciara. The box office was closed when I rang to enquire, so I tried another number on spec and all I got from the guy I talked to was that they no longer handle beam backs.

Seems a bit strange to me because when the beam backs were included as part of the season ticket I had at the time, it was always a full house, and I'm sure not everybody there was in the same boat I was.

Maybe the admin and overheads aren't worth the effort.

That was just market research for ppv. Remember that they started at £13.00, went down to £11.00 and ended up on £8.00: now remind me, what is the cost of a single match on ppv now? ;-)

That would come under the umbrella of doing something for the supporters for no other reason than to make them happy. No money in that. :-/

That sounds like the NUFC we all know and love, Softie.
