Morning all. Very early. So early. I couldn't sleep, so here I sit listening to 5 Live on the web. I am certifiable.

-- Anonymous, December 01, 2001

Morning ciara - I'm on 5Live also. Is Ian Wright completely nuts or what?

As ever with these things, the draw is very late - they reckon another 4-5 minutes.

-- Anonymous, December 01, 2001

ARGH!!!! 5 Live have cut off their webcast!!!!

-- Anonymous, December 01, 2001

Those top seeds look ridiculous every time I see them.

Let's hope we get Korea!

-- Anonymous, December 01, 2001

It's on BBC2 as well now.

-- Anonymous, December 01, 2001

"China should be allocated to Korea"

What's all that about then?

-- Anonymous, December 01, 2001

Think I'll go watch it on telly - and get my armchair warmed up for the Man U v Chelsea game. CU.

-- Anonymous, December 01, 2001

China doesn't want to play in Japan.

-- Anonymous, December 01, 2001

"Johan Craaef"

Bet he loved that one!

-- Anonymous, December 01, 2001

grrr.....radio 2 on the web isn't broadcasting the draw either. I hate FIFA. What possible reason do they have for not allowing the webcast of a draw that is going live on television to every country EXCEPT the US!!! (cause US television is extremely lame like that)

-- Anonymous, December 01, 2001

I'll type it out as it happens...

Sort of

-- Anonymous, December 01, 2001

Thank you!! A virtual pint to you!!

-- Anonymous, December 01, 2001

A pint? This early in the morning? Oh go on then :)

-- Anonymous, December 01, 2001

Ireland have Germany in their group

Live draw (text based, keep refreshing)

-- Anonymous, December 01, 2001

Damn.

-- Anonymous, December 01, 2001

Though Ireland did beat Holland, and have avoided the same group as England, so that's a good thing.

-- Anonymous, December 01, 2001

I bet we get Argentina :(

-- Anonymous, December 01, 2001

England in a groupd with Argentina. Damn, I knew it :(

-- Anonymous, December 01, 2001

Now the praying starts....US for group H pleeeease..... ;-)

-- Anonymous, December 01, 2001

England, Sweden and Argentina together.

-- Anonymous, December 01, 2001

Whoa!!England in a group with ARgies and Sweden!! Ouch!

-- Anonymous, December 01, 2001

Argentina are the best in the world IMHO, if we can beat them then we can win the cup.

We'll have to get some tips from Diego Gavilan, who helped Paraguay to a couple of draws against them in the qualifiers.

-- Anonymous, December 01, 2001

Mid draw break so they can sing a song

-- Anonymous, December 01, 2001

Isn't it the top 2 teams in each group that go through? So it will probably come down to a battle between England and Sweden for the 2nd spot. Unless Argentina melt down, which I can't see happening

-- Anonymous, December 01, 2001

Ah, I was wondering why the text updates had suddenly stopped.

-- Anonymous, December 01, 2001

And the draw recommences...

-- Anonymous, December 01, 2001

Brazil, Turkey and China

Brazil get it easy don't they?

-- Anonymous, December 01, 2001

Germany, Ireland and Saudi Arabia

-- Anonymous, December 01, 2001

Paraguay, Spain, Slovenia

-- Anonymous, December 01, 2001

Surely they could have combined this programme with the National Lottery Live. Or is it the NLL? I can't help thinking that Guinevere or Lancelot would have made a better job of it.

Argy-Bargies and Sweden will be tough. I hope we get a goo bonus ball.

-- Anonymous, December 01, 2001

Oh god, I have a sinking feeling the US is going to get drawn in group E.

-- Anonymous, December 01, 2001

Italy, Croatia, Ecuador

-- Anonymous, December 01, 2001

France have an easy group too, Uruguay, Denmark and (cough) Senegal

-- Anonymous, December 01, 2001

How come the top 2 from FIFA rankings get the easiest groups?

-- Anonymous, December 01, 2001

I feel sick every time I hit refresh.

-- Anonymous, December 01, 2001

YES!!!!!!

-- Anonymous, December 01, 2001

Korea, Poland, USA and Portugal

Not too bad :)

-- Anonymous, December 01, 2001

Definitely not an easy group, but at least my worst nightmare has been avoided. :-D

-- Anonymous, December 01, 2001

Oh feck, England have an impossible group

ENGLAND, ARGENTINA, NIGERIA, SWEDEN what a group :(

-- Anonymous, December 01, 2001

God, could England have a much tougher group...Nigeria?!

-- Anonymous, December 01, 2001

For Gods sake. Group of DEATH!

-- Anonymous, December 01, 2001

Patrick Vieira was born in Senegal wasn't he? Massive game for him for France when they play them.

-- Anonymous, December 01, 2001

bliddy hell! England could well finish bottom of that group

-- Anonymous, December 01, 2001

I wonder how Phillips would fare against Walter Samuel?

Platini called it Nigeria before the ball was even opened.... Git!

-- Anonymous, December 01, 2001

Next question....what's the tv schedule? I hgave a feeling I'll be going to work late the first week of June. ;-)

-- Anonymous, December 01, 2001

Bright side is we wouldnt have to face Argentina until the final again if we qualify!!! Though I suspect if we finish runners-up we would have to play the winners of Group C i.e Brazil???

-- Anonymous, December 01, 2001

Or would it be group G i.e. Italy?

-- Anonymous, December 01, 2001

Well at least that'll stop all the bloody silly triumphalism we've had form the "we're gonna win it" brigade since we qualified. Might be a blessing in disguise in a way because at least we won't go there with hugely inflated expectations.

Current FIFA rankings are Argentina (2), England (10), Sweden (16), Nigeria (40). But we have got the favourites and the team we never beat in our group!!

First England game is Sunday 2 June at 6.30 am against Sweden. Then we play Argentina on Friday 7 June at 12.30 pm and finally Nigeria on 12 June at 7.30 am. I'll have to get to school very early in the morning for that one!

-- Anonymous, December 01, 2001

Brazil must be laughing their cocks off.

-- Anonymous, December 01, 2001

Brilliantly unprovably fixed. Must have been. You couldn't see a single join.

The England/Sweden thing has about the same proportions as the NUFC/London thing, so our win today will also settle Sweden's hash. :- ))

-- Anonymous, December 01, 2001

OH actually it will be France if we qualify as runners up!

-- Anonymous, December 01, 2001

"Brazil must be laughing their cocks off."

How about, "Brazil must be laughing their nuts off"?

;7)
