greenspun.com : LUSENET : MATH : One Thread

The 29th people! If I still cared about my novel I'd be having a heart attack right about now.

Answers

uh, one more thing. Why does the diarist awards page say that vote tabulation is through the 2nd, but then I got an email saying that sara's entry won best guest. Jigga what?

-- Anonymous, November 29, 2001

What, me worried about the novel? All I need is to type 25,000 words in 24 hours. Sure.

-- Anonymous, November 29, 2001

Yay, Mike's here! Maybe we can get a sort-of full MATH day going.

How is it that Squishettes already has like 100 registered users??? And MATH+1 has like 20? Is it because people hate greenspun?

-- Anonymous, November 29, 2001

I bet we have more active posters than they do, though. What I mean is, they might have more people registered, but 2/3 of them might just pad, where most of our posters actually write in complete sentences.

-- Anonymous, November 29, 2001

Or talk about their lack of monsoon.

I am still going to register for mathplusone.com so we can get an ikonboard, though. Because I hate greenspun too, and I fear it might be going away anyway.

We have 20 people who are cool, and they have 100 who aren't (well, 99 and me). I'll take M+1 seven days a week and twice on Sunday.

-- Anonymous, November 29, 2001

Aw, Mike thinks he's cute.

That's so sweet.

-- Anonymous, November 29, 2001

I mean cool! Dammit. I can't even make a joke.

-- Anonymous, November 29, 2001

I also think I'm cute, though.

-- Anonymous, November 29, 2001

So do we, Mike. So do we.

-- Anonymous, November 29, 2001

We're definitely the cuter group.

-- Anonymous, November 29, 2001

That goes without saying, I think.

Are you and Sima still thinking of ATL for New Year's?

-- Anonymous, November 29, 2001

No, 'cause we're all poor and whatnot.

But we'll probably be there over MLK weekend.

-- Anonymous, November 29, 2001

Well, that does me no good. I won't be there that weekend!

What's going on that weekend?

Why do I feel poorer this year than last year, when really, I'm not? But I feel SO much poorer. Damn recession making me all paranoid. But aren't they saying that we'll be coming out of it this Spring?

-- Anonymous, November 29, 2001

When is MLK weekend? January, right? Good, because for Presidne't Day weekend, we're planning a trip to Memphis, TN/Oxford, MS for Chris' birthday.

-- Anonymous, November 29, 2001

Why there for his birthday?

President's weekend is also Valentine's weekend.

-- Anonymous, November 29, 2001

It's a long weekend, so that's why we're targeting it. Our respective schedules rule out a New Year's trip -- I work the morning of the 31st and the 1st, and she works on the 2nd.

-- Anonymous, November 29, 2001

You work on the 31st and the 1st? I'm sorry. But sports never stop, do they.

-- Anonymous, November 29, 2001

He's all about the barbecue and the blues. Plus, Oxford is a cool town, and we've been wanting to take a trip, but we don't want to go there during footmall season. And we cans tay at the Peabody in Memphis - ducks!

-- Anonymous, November 29, 2001

Yeah, and I'm kind of pissed off. The asst. editor who does the schedules tried to switch me to a noon-8 shift on the 31st and I practically had to beat him into a pulp to keep my morning shift.

-- Anonymous, November 29, 2001

You've done your time, Mike - you should be able to have any shift you want.

I'm getting really excited about New Year's. I'm hoping I can convince Chris that we need to pain the living room before January 1, and not after, the way he wants to now. And maybe we'll have real blinds in the bedrooms, rather than the paper ones!

What's a good way to say "relationships"? I think we should start a category for them since there are at least 10 threads dealing with parents, SOs, friends etc.

-- Anonymous, November 29, 2001

"Friends, Lovers, Countrymen"

-- Anonymous, November 29, 2001

Heeee. That's good

-- Anonymous, November 29, 2001

I also started one called "Paying the Bills" for money and work.

-- Anonymous, November 29, 2001

Anything to get the board hopping again.

-- Anonymous, November 29, 2001

I think a lot of people don't get the "new answers" thing, so when a topic falls off the new questions list it sort of dies.

-- Anonymous, November 29, 2001

Hee. I love it that Sara Astruc posts to our board.

-- Anonymous, November 29, 2001

Yeah, so do I. Give me Sara, Omar, PG and Keli, and the Squishettes can have all the POSMs. Good deal for us.

-- Anonymous, November 29, 2001

Then again, none of those people, except Omar, really posted at Squishy anyway.

-- Anonymous, November 29, 2001

No AB or Al all day? What's up with that?

-- Anonymous, November 29, 2001

Still recovering from the weekend?

-- Anonymous, November 29, 2001

Maybe. Or maybe they're just good workers.

Mike - you WILL let us read this novel though, right?

-- Anonymous, November 29, 2001

Yeah, when it becomes a novel and not just random paragraphs.

-- Anonymous, November 29, 2001

I'm working, here! I'll probably work a little late as CHris is going to thie Republican hoo ha thing tonight, and I'd rather not spend a meal listening to Ralph Reed spout off about the Clintons, thank you very much.

-- Anonymous, November 29, 2001

You know, now I have an entry ready to go ... but the FTP won't work.

I can't win.

-- Anonymous, November 29, 2001

Don't let the man get you down! If AB were here maybe she could do it for you. But noooo, she has to all not be here, or be workign hard and whatnot.

-- Anonymous, November 29, 2001

Hey! I've written almost a 1,000 words today. Obviously I won't reach 50,000, by TOMORROW, but maybe I'll go ahead and finish this little story anyway.

-- Anonymous, November 29, 2001

How did I know that WG would be the first to respond to the politics thread?

-- Anonymous, November 29, 2001

And the Omar housing thread too.

-- Anonymous, November 29, 2001

Oh, I KNOW! Why would she even put that? Poor WG. So young. So misguided.

-- Anonymous, November 29, 2001

WG cracks me up. She's so clueless. And, I get the impression that she's funding the Smoker's Christmas. So sad.

-- Anonymous, November 29, 2001

Today has been quite the M-TH day.

-- Anonymous, November 29, 2001

How unnecessary is this?
