Is Edgar Allen Poe a romantic author?

I don't think I'd describe him as a romantic author, but one of his poems i've read, "Annabel Lee" is very sweet, but, like most of the stuff of his I've read, it has a morbid undertone.

I beilve that Poe is a really romatic author, not in the sence that when you think romantic as candels,wine,seduction but a romantic belife of dark terror and horror, a romance to the fact that people read it and fall in love with it because its horrifiy,and keep the reader interested.
