I love the Wilderness Family movies. I love to watch anything that deals with liveing off the land or life in the good'ole days. If anyone has any good ones-list them-I need to watch some good movies!!!

Michaela, I recently discoverd teh Wilderness Family movies at the library. There's I and II. Do you know if there are any others? The Young Pioneers, I and II. I taped them off t.v. two Christmas ago. there was a series of these, but only lasted 3 or 4 episodes. I'd love to see those again.

Sam Elliot and Tom Sellek in a Louis L'Amour movie! Who could ask for more?

I really like the "Five Mile Creek" movies. They are hard to find, but worth the effort. They are all filmed on location in Australia. There is a series of 20 video tapes, each containing two episodes lasting approximately 45 minutes each. They are what I would call family westerns. I also like "Young Pioneers" and "Young Pioneer's Christmas", which I recording off the television. I watch them this time of year, along with a few others. I also have a set of the old "Lassie" shows, which I love and wish I had more of. Anyone remember Jeff?

The Five Mile Creek series. The setting is a new stage coach line in Austraila. Plenty of action, good stories, no bad language. The only problem is that you can only find the first ten volumes on video and there are an additional ten videos that are very hard to find now.

I guess Janet and I were posting at the same time :-).

I can't believe I forgot to post our absolutely favorite ones - they are Sarah Plain and Tall, Skylark and Winter's End.

Cindy, I have found that Wal-Mart is now carring the Wilderness Family movies and so far I have gotton 5!. They are cheap at about 6.00 a movie and they have also started carring other family movies like these. We don't get to town but once a month so the library is out for us.We do not get t.v. well either, which is ok by me, but we do like to watch movies together and always need a good one!

I forgot, Hallmark Hall of Fame has a ton of good, clean pioneer movies. I usually can't find them at Wal-Mart but my local video stores will order theses at a menimal cost to me. I got several just a couple weeks ago--True Women and Rose Hill. Both are dynamic movies with strong leading ladies!!

Grace and Glory is an excellent Hallmark movie. I definitely agree with Terry about the Sarah movies, especially the third one.

I love the Sarah plain and tall movies too, and the Wilderness family. I have 3...never knew there were more. They are sort of Hoky but I like them anyhow. My all time favorite movie ever is "Country" a 1980's mom saves the farm movie. I finally bought it on ebay. I have seen in at least 30 times.

I used to have the entire 5 Mile Creek series, LOVED it. Then made the mistake of loaning the entire series to some "friends" from church. When I asked for them back, they had loaned them to another family, and I never saw them again....waah!

I also like the Little House series, Sarah Plain and Tall movies, and almost any of the Hallmark shows.

My very favorites, which I check out frequently from our library (haven't found where I can buy them yet) are the All Creatures Great and Small series. They come in a set of 2 tapes, each with 3 shows on them, the first starts out when Herriot first became a vet, before he was married. Our library has 6 sets and I can't get enough of them, they always put me in a good mood and get me to laughing. Dh is now a big fan of them also.

I'm glad you shared this Lenette because I have never heard of these videos. We love his stories so I'm going to see if our library has these or can get them for me.

I thought of another set of video we like a lot. Anne of Green Gables, the first four videos. I didn't care too much for the last ones called Anne, the Continuing Story. They were too "action packed" to fit my idea of Anne videos. It was a more serious theme too, though, during the war.

I like the Centennial series also
