end of season league table

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Unofficial Newcastle United Football Club BBS : One Thread

Silly bit of wishful thinking but anyone any second favourite teams?? Or how would you like you the legue table to be at end of season.

Here just my thoughts.

1.NUFC (theres a thing!) 2.Ipswich 3.Bolton Wanderers 4.Liverpool 5.Everton 6.Charlton 7.Fulham 8.Blackburn 9.Soton 10.Arsenal 11.Aston Villa 12.West Ham 13.Derby County 14.Boro 15.Sunderland 16.Leicester 17.Chelsea 18.Spurs 19.Leeds 20.Cant think.

I know most will disagree but this as Macbeth oints out is a democratic thread. Some placings are pure sentiment for old-time-names, others for plucky lads, and relegtion spots for Spoilt Brats but there I go again.

Any views??

Derek

hard to disagree with your relegation candidates. Maybe move Boro and the Hackems up to 7th and 8th so they just miss out on Europe :-)

More likely to be in reverse order tho Derek!!

NUFC
Bolton (the in-laws team)
WHam (despite the genetic fault of being cockney, as fans they're probably nearer Geordies)
Derby (for the Bald Eagle's memory)
Any of the others in any order, so long as makems and Smogs finish 16 & 17 and miss on relegation due to some technicality (most games drawn or wearing red in their strip)

No doubts; no thought necessary.
2nd favourite team - Newcastle Reserves.
Bottom spot - SAFC.

1, NUFC. =20, other 19 sides.

Hey Dez you missed out the Manure. But I guess they'd g nicely in 20th.

Ah yes thats right couldnt think of the team tks for eminding me!!!

Newcastle top, Manure/Chelsea/Spurs in 18,19,20. Soton, Mackems, Leicester, Derby, Charlton, Boro, Villa in the bottom half cause they either bore or annoy me. The rest in any order in between, though I'd like to see Blackburn and Ipswich relatively high up.

This is my kind of fantasy league. :-)

Bobby,

West Ham? Wash your mouth out.

They're some of the most unpleasant, obnoxious bunch of supporters i've had the misfortune to meet. Without exception. Well, maybe Billy Bragg and Trevor Brooking.

Perhaps I'm just wearing Eastenders-tinted specs then :-) What I was getting at is that the club is from the old school, rickety but famous ground, with history and pride in times / fame past. Very working class, rough around the edges and often ignored in favour of their more glamorous neighbours...f**k me, they're S**derland!

Of all the London clubs we have more in common with WHam Fans - certainly more than the ten a penny Arsenal, celebrity Chelsea and downright tosspot Spurs fans. Fulham are just an oddity to the PL.

I'm with you bob, i've got some top notch hammers mates.....only other group of cockneys worth anything would be QPR (RIP)....

I've long thought of WHAM as our nearest equivalents in London ie traditional working-class club with reputation for playing (or at least trying to play) decent football, + loyal, passionate, knowledgable fans.
