??? or is it my slow dial-up?

oh, I see, enron *evil grin*

Someone recently told me to buy stock in Enron while it was low, because there ain't no way that the Administration is going to allow them to collapse. We'll see if they ask for a bailout. IMO, they did all this to themselves. First they ripped off California. THEN they engaged in those scandalous adventures for which the SEC is now investigating them, and THEN they froze the 401K accounts of employees so that they couldn't sell their Enron stock when the market started to dive. Those employees are now suing enmasse and it may be that Dynergy [is that right?] is no longer interested in the merger if the suits from the employees reach a certain figure.

If they get a bailout, you may be able to hear my scream from Indiana.

Anita, Dynegy backed out of the deal today. Enron has very little choice but to file for bankruptcy.

At 61 cents California could buy them for less than they owe them.

Thanks, Pammy. I kindof pride myself on being up-to-date on this stuff, but I guess those ben wa balls threw my mind off-track yesterday.

Enron in the news

I think I'm ready to put forth that scream.

As Congress and federal investigators begin looking into a host of questions about management's role in the company's collapse, I note that the Bush-G.O.P. "stimulus" plan calls for United States taxpayers to give Enron $254 million.

Since it was Enron management's greed that ran the company into multibillion-dollar debt, why should we citizens pay for its irresponsibility?

That, is the Libertarian coming out in you again Anita.

The fact that our gov would even think about bailing them out is bullshit.

And to think, they think, we can't govern ourselves....what a sham.
