AF in Canon EOS 300

I have a Canon EOS 300 camera. At times I find that though the beeper sounds indicating that the subject is in focus, the shutter does not opens. What should be the reason ? When I look through the viewfinder, I find that the subject is quite well focussed. But the shutter does not opens immediately. Is this problem due to the lenses. I have ordinary EF 28-90 f/4-5.6 and EF 75-300 f/4-5.6 zoom lenses.

This is not related to the lenses. i guess that u are using the 'basic zone' in which modes the shutter is locked when it is either too bright or too dark (even with the extremum shutter speed and aperture, the camera does allow the photo to be under or overexposed) It may also be due to some mechanical problem. Also make sure that u press the shutter button completely,half-way press is for focus only.

that could be some other kind of problem. may be because i was quite new to SLR camera. now i don't have that problem. this is my first SLR and i had almost no experience in photography before this. so i was bit more cautious and that might have lead to "NON-FUNCTIONING" of shutter. thanks for your guidance.
