one more advice and some info

Here in France Nikon F60 with 28-80 G and 70-300 G is being sold right now under certain scheme. The scheme claims that the orginal price of this set is $650, but they are selling it for $ 400. In $ 400, I can get a Nikon F65 with 28-80 G in the market here. I went through several reviews. Many say F60 is good. But many have expressed on this discussion list that F60 is bad. Usually they have the same opinion for F65. I cannot afford more for a camera. I am a student and this would be my first SLR. I want to use it to learn aspects of photography. I am expecting suggestions on what to buy : F60 with 28-80 and 70-300 or F65 with 28-80 for the same price. I also found out that F60 has been withdrawn by Nikon. Does anyone know the reason stated in the official notice by Nikon. I searched for their official withdrawal notice on their website, but could not find it. Thanks. Vivek

Hi Vivek, Thats right F60 has been withdrawn and is no longer in production. The F65 alongwith a 28-80 G lens is a great combination. I have been using it for the past couple of months and the results are outstanding, at all ranges from 28 all the way to 80mm. The f65 itself is a wonderful camera. The metering is similar to that of the F80 (different than the F60 and better too), and very accurate.

My advise : Go for the F65 and the 28-80 G lens and you will not regret it.

Happy Clicking Dinesh
