greenspun.com : LUSENET : The Work of Edgar Allan Poe : One Thread

One of his 5 rules to writng short stories is that the story must convey the Truth, so my questio is what exactly is the Truth in the story Ligeia.

The truth is at the end of the story. The truth is staring straight into the face of the narrator. He wants Ligeia alive so much and he also ponders about the meaning of living forever. Well the freakish horror of Ligeia staring him down is his answer and the Poe's truth.
