greenspun.com : LUSENET : Canon EOS FAQ forum : One Thread

I an living in South America and was looking for new 1V body, a Canon representative told me that Canon Miami won“t receive 1V orders since that model will be out of production soon, and that a new model will be released soon, is that true ????

Thanks in advance

I doubt it.

Don't think so, it just got a glowing review in pop photo.

It's likely that your respresentative thinks that the 1V is going to be replaced by the 1D, and I can't see that Canon will delete the 1V as it's a very different camera - it uses film and it doesn't cost £5000!

Maybe you're mistaken, and they're not taking orders for the 1N?

The 1V will not be replaced for a long time yet, because it has been out for such a short time. The EOS 1 ran for over 5 years, as did its replacement, the 1N. Now the 1V takes up that position, and will likely run for a similar amount of time.
