o-zone dissappearing

How much of the o-zone layer is being destroyed caused by gas powered cars? How much will it help if we start using the solar vehicals instead of gas powered cars?

I have no idea. Thats exactly what I want to know. Probably alot is being destroyed, and it should help a bit, but another problem is some of the stuff thats in spray cans. I'm not sure how that works exactly, but its hurting the o-zone to.

Life can not exist without the o-zone layer people think .

I don't know how much of the o zone is being destroyed. I think that so much has been destroyed that it makes it hard to calculate how much is destroyed. I feel that if people share cars, cut back on gas, and stop smoking it will make it so that not so much is destroyed.

Have you ever woundered if we could put in an artificial?

Well Celestial, I can't give you a exact answer of the depletion of the o-zone layer from cars alone. But from CFC's ( a chemical found in hair spray) and other forms of air pollution, there is now a gaping hole the size of the United States down at the South Pole. This is really a sad case. We, supposidly the superior species of our planet, are going to in fact cause its own destruction. I was given a pamplet showing all of the dying animals and melting iceburgs and it was truly heartbreaking. As for the whole issue of electrical cars, I think this would help out with less than half of the depletion, but if we truly want to cease this increasing rate of destruction, more action besides elecrical cars will be needed.Hopefully my answer has helped you!

Henry Gerk, I have an answer for you! Stop BEING such a JERK, and be nice about. People have been working hard to do this, and I think that Stephanie gave a wonderful answer! But you, you are just a big, fat, JERK!

I think that it is beyond being repaired at that we should carry on our everyday lives and see what the future holds.

I think that the o-zone is depleting because of the usage of cars and fatory smoke which is creating CFC's and they are abosorbing the heat rather than repelling it.

we need the o-zone layer to survive because without it we would freeze, it is naturally occuring and untill the industrial revolution there was a healthy balance between carbon dioxide and oxygen. This increase in carbon dioxide and other harmfull gases is largely down to human activities including the combustion of fossil fuels such as coal and oil and the emission of cfc's from fridges and areosoles. Large areas of ozone over the north and south pole have been destroyed but this is not just down to cars but a mixture of contributions.
