I'm going
-- Anonymous, November 27, 2001
...to be looking for text updates or relying on my fellow bbsers with access to webcast or metro for updates.
-- Anonymous, November 27, 2001
Ciara, mornin' pet. Is there a webcast of the game? If you come across any good match links gizza shoot. I tip the preverbial glass of glogg in yer general like.
-- Anonymous, November 27, 2001
I would think there will be a webcast of this one from .cock and Metro. I'm stuck behind a firewall so can't hear it. :-(Hopefully sports.com will do their usual text commentary. They can be annoying and slow, but it's better than nothing. And are we drinking this early in the day? Ah well, why not, beats working. 8-)
-- Anonymous, November 27, 2001
Now I'm pissed if the line up I've seen for tonights game is right. Robert, Lee and Shearer are playing - WHY? Robert, a hip injury Saturday also he didnt play very well. Lee, also slighly injured? Anyway, he's old and really need the rest between the games. Shearer has some achilles problems and could also need some rest. Ameobi and Lua Lua up front, Acuna or Bassedas in the middle and Quinn or someone on left midfield. This is the Worthington Cup - i dont wanna win that stupid cup if it will bring problems to our league games.

Is this the official match thread, then? Or does the Worthless cup not warrant one?
-- Anonymous, November 27, 2001
I assume this is the official thread...
-- Anonymous, November 27, 2001
I used to be trapped behing a firewall, but the nice thing about our failling economy is losing your job so you can spend matchday afternoons at home listening to the match :-)I'll try to give updates, but I'm not very good at that
-- Anonymous, November 27, 2001
It's really buzzing in here.
-- Anonymous, November 27, 2001
Unfortunately the new commentator isn't very good at that either.
-- Anonymous, November 27, 2001
Commentator saying about 40,000 in crowd, probably biggest crowd tonight in England
-- Anonymous, November 27, 2001

Congratulation to Mr Shearer !!You are still the best !!
Happy 100th goal
-- Anonymous, November 27, 2001
Let's hope we can do the same down at Ipswich in 10 days' time. 4-0
-- Anonymous, November 27, 2001
Why isn't this being televised over here? Why am I working ina place that has streaming audio blocked? How soon after the match will the goal vids be up on .cock? :-D
-- Anonymous, November 27, 2001
Whew! I'm hardly having time to email updates to my Ipswich fan roomate at work
-- Anonymous, November 27, 2001
BTW, all pretence of working has now disappeared. Hee.
-- Anonymous, November 27, 2001
We salute you very much!!!!
-- Anonymous, November 27, 2001
Wonder if Al will get a hat trick today? Or two? ;-)
-- Anonymous, November 27, 2001
This is unbelievable, we should have six or seven goals
-- Anonymous, November 27, 2001
sports.com say we are running rampant.
-- Anonymous, November 27, 2001
I was just about write that it's like we're playing a 3rd division team when the commentator says Ipswich look like a 3rd division outfit
-- Anonymous, November 27, 2001
They've also gotten a little overexcited and called FT 4-0 at the 45min mark. Unless the match is being called on humanitarian grounds? ;-)
-- Anonymous, November 27, 2001
Robert trough, but fails to score
-- Anonymous, November 27, 2001
What did they just say about Bellamy? I was at the sink doing dishes and heard "Bellamy" but that's it
-- Anonymous, November 27, 2001
O'Brien is on for Elliott
-- Anonymous, November 27, 2001
Evening all, we're playing well and we might even get two wins on the trot! ;O)Ciara, I thought O'Brien came on for Hughes who is suffering from a virus which ruled Bellamy out tonight.
-- Anonymous, November 27, 2001
I think he's on for Hughes, not Elliot
-- Anonymous, November 27, 2001
Sorry...that's what I got from sports.com who've now changed it to Hughes. This is the same site that said we were at FT at HT. Hope they've at least gotten the goal count right! :-)
-- Anonymous, November 27, 2001
Ah, OK, thanks wonkey
-- Anonymous, November 27, 2001
32,576 official attendence!
-- Anonymous, November 27, 2001
'attendance' even! ;O)
-- Anonymous, November 27, 2001
Shearer has now had at least 3/4 chances to get his hattrick tonight...what's he playing at? ;O))))))))))
-- Anonymous, November 27, 2001
Have things died down at SJP? Quiet on here and at sports.com. All they can come up with is that we haven't won a major trophy in 32yrs. Not sure what they're point is as we won't be winnning one tonight, either. ;-)
-- Anonymous, November 27, 2001
Any chance of us lot in the states seeing the goals?? Love to see luax2 come on soon.
-- Anonymous, November 27, 2001
Possibly BBC America's preview show on Friday afternoon/Saturday morning. They often show midweek goals, but not from all the matches.
-- Anonymous, November 27, 2001
Also if you get BBc World News tonight, they sometimes show some of the day's goals. Very inconsistent and usually tend to focus on London teams, but ya never know.
-- Anonymous, November 27, 2001
Well, I've got to go see my lawyer about a check for whcih i've been waiting over a year, so see you all later! Hopefully will log back in tonight and find out Big Al got his hat trick. :-D
-- Anonymous, November 27, 2001
Mick Martin: The fans won't mind feeling cold because we're winning 4-0.Nobhead: Tell that to my nose?
He's a master of the off-the-cuff quip.
-- Anonymous, November 27, 2001
Excise the question-mark from the nobhead's pithy bon-mot above, please.
-- Anonymous, November 27, 2001
The Ipswich come-back starts here. Oh bollix.
-- Anonymous, November 27, 2001
Bollox! Bent's just scored for Ipswich. I thought he was cup-tied?Mind, I must admit it has been coming.
-- Anonymous, November 27, 2001
4-1 btw.2xLua on for Lolo.
-- Anonymous, November 27, 2001
Ooops! Wrong Bent, I thought it was Marcus not Darren.
-- Anonymous, November 27, 2001
Lua x2 on for Robert
-- Anonymous, November 27, 2001
Who do we want in the next round? Watford? Or anyone at home except Arsenal?
-- Anonymous, November 27, 2001
Watford or Bolton at home
-- Anonymous, November 27, 2001
We'll score another yet.
-- Anonymous, November 27, 2001
BBC Radio Five Live - who have based their whole prog at SJP tonight - leave their live coverage of the match (which must also be on the web), to switch to a more competitive game, and Ipswich score! Expert Craig Brown is very impressed with the lads: "Newcassel are in total control."Lots of comments about pitch being cut up.
-- Anonymous, November 27, 2001
Feckin' "Daisy Cutter" analogy again.
-- Anonymous, November 27, 2001
FT 4-1
-- Anonymous, November 27, 2001
please please do the same against CA this weekend
-- Anonymous, November 27, 2001
Morning lads and lasses , been watching since 7.30am in Sydney here sat at me desk . Properly woken up and absorbed whats been going in the London and NY markets overnight . A shearer hat trick would start me day off nicely .. howay man Alan ! Thanks for the reports tho , I wa beginning to think that since I left the lads to play without me watching they wouldnt win again . Are we in the last 8 after this ?
-- Anonymous, November 27, 2001
along with the arse, watford and bolton
-- Anonymous, November 27, 2001
Well done lads. What we need now is Watford at SJP.
