To fly or not to flygreenspun.com : LUSENET : ACountryPlace : One Thread |
That is the question. I saw a news report last night that says more people were driving during the holiday season. I personally have no desire to fly and not because I am afraid of terrorists. I feel I have a choice in this case whether to protect my civil liberties or give them up. I choose to keep them, thank you. It is going to be interesting to see how many Americans choose liberty over safety. Personally I'd rather take my chances with a terrorist. The only way a terrorist can take over a plane is if the rest of the passengers are prevented by the government from defending themselves.Little bit Farm

I've never liked flying. Either I take a dramamine and am sleepy, or I don't and am airsick. So it's hard to say how much my opinion of it has changed. I did allow Eldest to fly out for Thanksgiving, since he had no qualms about it, and will fly him out again for Christmas. As squeamish as I am about it, I believe it's safer than driving across the mountains this time of year.
