I almost wrote August. What am I, clazy?

Al - I hope y'all were safe in tornado-striken Alabama!

AB - how was the big 26th?

-- Anonymous, November 26, 2001

Good morning! Oh, how I've missed MATH.

How were y'all's Thanksgivings?

-- Anonymous, November 26, 2001

It was great. The Hardlucy show was fun, and my crazy brother Lane actually showed up, so we partied down.

Vince Chao give me digital camera. He is best husband ever!

-- Anonymous, November 26, 2001

Herro?

Sad, lonely, AB.

-- Anonymous, November 26, 2001

Yay! So did you take lots of crazy photos at the show?

Did y'all spend Tday with the Chaos or with your family? Or do you do both?

-- Anonymous, November 26, 2001

Yes? Herro?

I think Mike is forever on nights.

-- Anonymous, November 26, 2001

We combined the two--the Chao Famiry all had Thanksgiving at the Cookston's house. So it was fun.

Y'all, I am so hungry. It's Thanksgiving aftermath.

-- Anonymous, November 26, 2001

That does sound fun! I love it when there's lots of peeps.

I know. Me too. Until dinner on Friday all I ate all day was dressing and it was glorious.

Hello!

Yes, we had lots of bad weather from that tornado. But we were not killed by it, for which we were Thankful.

Hey, guess WHAT? My BROTHER is in the HOSPITAL.

Can I just tell you that JoLo has had just about enough of this shit? He has diverticulitis, which is an inflamation of the colon. Woo HOOOOOO!

Poor Kelly. He was dying all weekend and afraid to say anything because he didn't want Mother to have to deal with anything else. When he finally was breaking out into a sweat from the pain, she took him to the hospital and pretty much kicked him out at the door. Same hospital Bill Lowe was in.

How crappy is that, people? I ask you. I went to see him Saturday and I did fine at the hospital except I had to take all different elevators, because I just couldn't stand the thought of going the same route as I did to my dad's room. I know that's dumb, but you know.

Anyway, Kelly should be fine. It's not too serious, except that it can get serious if you don't take care of it in time, which he is.

Despite the medical and natural emergencies, we had an OK time. Saw the Drive-By Truckers Saturday night and stayed out until four in the morning. Crazy. We're used to those Texas Blue Laws, you know. Ain't got that stuff in Alabama. Nobody ever goes home until the sun comes up.

-- Anonymous, November 26, 2001

Oh Al, I'm so sorry. But I'm glad it looks like Kelly's going to be all right.

Is Chris going to NJ for Christmas, or will there be another Huff encounter in ATL?

-- Anonymous, November 26, 2001

God, Al. Poor JoLo. Poor Kelly. Tell him "meow" for me.

Going to smoke now.

-- Anonymous, November 26, 2001

Lord. The MBTV thing just won't die, will it?

Al - what are you getting the MOC for Christmas?

-- Anonymous, November 26, 2001

No, there are no Huffs in Jersey anymore. They live in Florida. I don't know what I'm getting him, or what we're doing for the holiday. It's all very complicated with the travelling.

When are y'all getting here for New Year's, H? That is an important detail in our plans.

-- Anonymous, November 26, 2001

Man, Omar's getting riled. How likely is it that "Fishcakes" is Beth, herself?

-- Anonymous, November 26, 2001

I was thinking that, too, but it doesn't sound like her.

Hmmm.

-- Anonymous, November 26, 2001

I had to weigh in on it, which is funny, because I couldn't care less about this whole discussion.

However, I get super irritated when people start invoking their RIGHTS. It makes me so frustrated.

Once again, let me say, I don't like xeney or her minions. And thus, in keeping with the theme of that whole discussion, it is My Right not to read her boring website or participate on her snarky forum.

-- Anonymous, November 26, 2001

It's sounds like someone fairly smart, so Xeney would be a good bet. Also, does anyone else give a damn anymore?

Al - we're planning on getting into the ATL on Sunday eve. We'll likely stay with T that night and then with y'all the next 2 because God forbid Eric and Chris aren't near each other at ALL TIMES.

-- Anonymous, November 26, 2001

Totally. Some of my friends from high school might be here, as well, so we may have a full house.

I was like "Well, maybe Eric and Hannah won't want to stay here if it's crowded," and the MOC was like "BUT...but... no! That's no problem! Eric won't care! It's fine! Everything's FINE!"

I feel bad I invited my friends, now. Lord.

And Chris is all "I haven't seen Eric in FOREVER!!" It hasn't even been a year, people! I mean, come on.

-- Anonymous, November 26, 2001

Eric and Chris can camp out on the lawn. Hell, they'd sleep in the car as long as they could spoon.

It hasn't been all that long, but they were used to seeing each other every weekend, so I can see how they'd be all missing on one another.

It's New Year's! The more the merrier.

-- Anonymous, November 26, 2001

Y'all have to back me up on my new R&B thread. I am laughing at myself.

-- Anonymous, November 26, 2001

I did. I watched some of the 21 under 21 on MTV this weekend, and seriously, WHAT is the deal with Lil Romeo? I love him but at the same time I'm repulsed by the idea of him.

-- Anonymous, November 26, 2001

I should get the L_L of 2001 award.

-- Anonymous, November 26, 2001

I'm making you a plaque right now, H.

Did everybody go vote for MATH/Diarist Awards? Today's the last day.

-- Anonymous, November 26, 2001

I don't know, H, I may have a shot at your L_L title.

Wah!

-- Anonymous, November 26, 2001

I no post for fear of being L_L!

But, yes, I already voted. I voted straight away! Can you vote for yourself, cause I did. Even though, not really, which is why I did.

-- Anonymous, November 26, 2001

I hope so, because I voted for my own self, too. Why wouldn't we?

Al? Do you know the rules?

-- Anonymous, November 26, 2001

Yeah, you can vote for yourself. I just emailed Jessie about it.

-- Anonymous, November 26, 2001

Good. Then we're not cheaters.

-- Anonymous, November 26, 2001

Well, we might be cheaters. But we're legal cheaters as far as voting goes.

-- Anonymous, November 26, 2001

That post from Amber in the hip hop thread is making me laugh so hard. Mostly because it's the most lucid she's ever sounded, and she's talking about Master P.

-- Anonymous, November 26, 2001

Al, that's not Beth, I don't think. The IP address resolves to a host in England. Or Switzerland. Somewhere overseas.

Whoever it is is stupid, though.

-- Anonymous, November 26, 2001

I think it's Beth, somehow. And if it isn't, whatever, it's one of her dressed-in-all-black fan club. I'm certainly not going to call her out as Beth, or anything. I just think these people need to step OFF, for God's sake.

I can't stand MBTV's long-ass pieces and flashing banner ads. The thing is, NO ONE likes it and they know that and aren't doing anything to change it, so why bother making a big stink about it?

Omar is way, way too hyper about the Uber people. The thing is, I would think Omar would not appreciate the fact that MBTV clearly has no editorial policy. They obviously only edit for grammar, and not for content, because they will let anybody write any in-joke, and they don't care if things drone on forever for 95 pages.

When I read the site regularly, it was just about love-to-hate shows like The Real World. Kim's recaps weren't blow-by-blows like some of them are now, and they were never longer than 3 pages. They were hilarious.

Now even Pam writes stuff like "OK, now we're back from commercial and Lorelei is saying this, and so and so is saying this."

I don't need every single minute or a true recap! I just want to know what was funny or stupid and what the writer thought about it. Droning on and on about every single scene is not writing. If it takes me longer to read about than it would to watch it, it's too long. They may not want to have a policy, but they should at least have that rule.

I've said all this to Pam, because she always asks if I read her stuff there. She says they know people have problems with the endless pages and ads, but they aren't going to change it.

So be it. I don't often read stuff there, especially if I see it's more than 5 pages. And that's My Right, I guess. Heeeee.

I've asked to recap Iron Chef there, and they turned me down, which is a shame, because I could use the cash, but I'm OK with it. I certainly wouldn't want to moderate a forum with people like Beth coming on and saying I don't know what I'm talking about. Maybe if they didn't moderate the forums at all, they wouldn't have these issues.

That site needs editorial direction, is all I'm saying. And a policy by which they can stand when people complain.

And this was a very long post about something stupid.

-- Anonymous, November 26, 2001

I trudge through Kim's Real World recaps, but only because they're consistently funny. And I've read some old Buffy ones to catch up, but I used to read recaps of EVERY show I watched. No longer. 3 pages was perfect. Omar said his latest Smallville recap was 8,500 words. That's only 1,500 shy of what I have in my "novel." Maybe they get paid by the word.

People, I just wrote an entry about Jewel. What is wrong with me.
