CHIBA — A bee stuck in a motor switch caused a train to be delayed for more than one hour and other disruptions to services that inconvenienced a total of some 1,200 passengers Sunday, East Japan Railway Co (JR East) said.

The train came to a halt at around 4:10 p.m. after the motor for a railway point at Kioroshi Station on the JR Narita Line became inoperative. "Point troubles caused by frogs and other small animals occur sometimes. But it is extremely rare for a train to be stopped and delayed for more than one hour by a tiny insect like a bee," a JR East official said.

We are now getting "Poor track adhesion caused by leaf mulch". Some withering sarcasm from Radio 5 on the subject from Jo Garvey and co.

Is Jo any relation to Marcus?

I await the anouncement of delays due to the wrong kind of track.
