Gifts for Jesus on his birthday?
Or gifts from Catholics to Catholics?

I suggest several things...

...a respectable and proper crucifix, The Flowers of St. Francis, a daily Missal, a collection of Catholic Christian prayers, an Italian glass bead rosary, hand-made needle-worked Christian crosses adorned with dogwood blooms, rose blooms, or pansys...if unable to find such hand-made needle-worked, contact www.st-louis.org and you will find very cheap and gorgeous hand-works worthy of framing.

Just for starts...

How about a Catholic Bible with adequate footnotes? I recommend the New American Bible - St. Joseph Edition, but there are many other good Catholic Bibles out there. And how about a soft cover copy of the Catechism of the Catholic Church? Both would make ideal gifts for Christmas for family and friends as both are relatively compact and economical to purchase. Talk about a gift that "lasts forever"!

Peace!

I love to receive recorded (CD) Christmas music, like carols and, of course, religious music. There is no shortage of them on the Internet. The best ones the last few years were a Kathleen Battle disc, with the Boys' Choir of Harlem. Her choices of music included several Catholic hymns, and also the traditional ones. Kiri Te Kanawa also sang many beautiful hymns for the season, on a CD some years back. I like the Ceremony of Carols by Benjamin Britten a lot. You can't beat holy music for Christmastime, to get you into the right spirit! One other nice thing about records: most of us don't want to spare the money to buy them for ourselves; so it's great to receive them from our friends!

I have found wonderful Rosaries at www.vaticangift.com By request they bring them to receive th blessing from the Holy Father the Pope, and with every Rosary they send also a Blessing certificate.

Hey Gang, let us not forget the Beautiful Gregorian Chants and the AVE Marias of many Opera singers, Andre Boccelli, and others. Pictures of Christ and others who followed him. Cherubs for the wall, desk and book cases. One more and the best Family photos with a religious background such as your favorite Church or Shrine in the background. The possibilities are endless. Oh yess Book and magazine subscriptions.. GOD LOVES US ALL..
