i wanna make a asf to vcd.. i read the thread of of asf to mpeg1 to vcd.. i didnt like the process of asf to mpeg1 from virtual dub.. i lost quality on video n it wasent smooth..any other way from goin asf to mpeg1 or asf to vcd ?

www.vcdhelp.com has a guide to using TMPGenc to do this conversion. You might find it a lot easier to do with TMPGenc. It has been my limited experience with Virtual Dub that it's a poor tool for novice users because it has too many options. That doesn't mean it's a poor tool, just that it's very very difficult for anyone but power users to get good results from using it to convert to MPEG-1. If you don't get everything just right, it's very easy to generate awful MPEG-1 video with it. TMPGenc is more user friendly and better documented.

like Jason said, there are converters - programs you can use to convert the ASF's to other types.
