lens pouches for 35/50 summilux M

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Leica Photography : One Thread

hello

does anyone know, where i could get a fitting lens pouch for the summiluxes (or rather summiluces?). i have some old black leather ones, red fabric lined, but they are much too big. i bought them around 1985 in germany. they are strap closing. they are perfect to carry the lens in your pockets, they have even a slight padding, but do not increase the size of the package.

does anyone still produce them? are they obtainable in the UK or in germany? they don't have to be leather, they just shouldn't be much bigger than the lens

i do not like the original leitz ones that came with the lenses, especially the 35 one is huge. maybe someone has suggestions how thay carry their spare lenses. i am not convinced with the m-lens-holder. and sometimes i like to go around without my bag. at the moment i use the pouch that came with the sf20. it is okay, but probably won't survive very long and it is not padded.

Hi Stefan,

I'm a gadget freak and I constantly keep my eyes open for such... while I#m not producing them myself, that is... ;o) The most compact and attractive pouches for small lenses I have come across so far are from Tatoonka, an outdoors equipment brand. They are black, made of neoprene and quite affordable. BTW, the Leica lens holder is tart. Wouldn't live without it. Most compact setup to stash into a tiny waist bag. If you want to see pix of my street combo in action go here. Enjoy.

... or rather here.

I use leather tobacco pouches. They look like an enveloppe, you slip in the lens (or 2 back to back short lenses) and the flap wraps around, stick it in your bag or coat pocket. Quick access, no lint, good protection.

I have seen leather (zippered) pipe pouches that would serve the purpose as well.

Only available in the better pipe shops, fairly expensive compared to plastic, vinyl etc.

i found something here:

Hi Stefan,

I just got a Hexanon 50/2 which comes in a very nice and fitting leather pouch. Seems to be alright for lenses up to the small 90/4 Elmar. Maybe you can get one of these from Konica directly as spare parts ?
