Angry PSV Eindhoven president Harry Van Raj has accused SAF of contacting their star defender Kevin Hofland "behind our backs".

Ferguson has raided PSV twice before to sign Jaap Stam and Ruud van Nistelrooy. Stam revealed in his recent controversial biography that the Man U manager had held secret talks with him before his move to Old Trafford.

Now Van Raj claims that their highly-rated PSV star, Hofland, has been secretly approached by United. The PSV chief told the NOTW that United had "never contacted us to say they were interested in Hofland". But he added: "It doesn't surprise me that they are in contact with Hofland behind our backs. I'm not surprised at anything when THAT manager is involved, because he has a reputation for doing these things."
