Anyone still use Minotla Flash meter IV?

Hi, Just picked up today a Minolta Flash Meter IV, spanking new, never sold, in the box. My intent was to purchase a lower end (and still produced) meter, but I got a pretty good deal on this one. Im looking for any tips users might have to offer. This instruction manual reads like Linear A..or is it Linear B? Thanks

Marke:

Is it a "Flash Meter IV" or an "Auto Meter IV F"? They both do flash, but the FM IV is (was) difficult to use while the AM IV F is a breeze.

This is a flash meter IV. Im still trying to limp my way through the manual, but I am wondering simple things like... If I open up my lens to f1.2, and want to take an reading with that as the priority, is there any way to get that value? Or am I left to read for f1, and adjust the ISO? Is there a way to get 1/2 stop exposure comp?

I use a couple of Flash IVs, none of the exotic functions but just as straightforward meters. Do you have any specific questions?

The f.m.4 is very comprehensive.Take your time reading the instructions.Page 21 of my official manual covers measuring ambient light with aperture priority.First set iso.,dont attempt to compensate iso. Then click switch down to f.no. then set f.1. You can only set whole not half stops. With a little practice you will be able to use this extremely sensitive and accurate meter to mentally adjust for f1.2.There are many other features in this meter you will discover. If you consider using studio flash with your Leica as well as classic available light your incident readings will be perfect. regards, Sheridan.
