Bobby's replacement

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Unofficial Newcastle United Football Club BBS : One Thread

Ok, Bobby's 68? Who is going to take over next year, or will it take another 2 years? Don't get me wrong I love the guy, wish he could stay for ever, but sooner or later he will have to be replaced, the proverbial bus might run over him tomorrow, heaven forbid.

Anyway who to replace him with?

I think we all know who it will be. Big Al with Bobby Lee as his number two.

I suspect Nick is correct, Ken. However, I'd prefer us to hire a really top-class coach. I believe there are not very many in this country who fall into that category, and would go for someone like Alain Perrin, the Troyes Manager - there will undoubtedly be others - perhaps with Alan Shearer as Assistant Manager to provide the continuity and learn the job first-hand.

I'd like David Platt. Six months working with Bobby then a smooth transition.
