Black Paint for Leicaflexes

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Leica Photography : One Thread

The black paint is worn a bit around the upper end of the back hinges on my Leicaflexes. Does anyone know what kind of paint I can use to touch it up?

TIA

I'd be inclined to spray some paint from a gloss or semi-gloss black epoxy paint spray can into the cap, or a paper cup, and apply with a fine (00 or so) brush.

That makes sense, thanks Bob

Try it on something harmless first. You may have to experiment to get the right look.

To repaint any black paint Leica is the best way to make it worthless.

Don't touch it if you intend to resell it one day.

Neither one (SL or SL/2) is a black paint version. One's a black chrome and one is a silver chrome. I would just like to touch up a very small area above the hinges on the back where the split rings have rubbed the black painted areas.
